Why after-hours calls are worth more
Three reasons, and they compound.

That last point cuts both ways. If almost nobody answers after six, the business that does answer takes work it would never win during office hours.

Voicemail, usually. And voicemail is where after-hours calls go to be forgotten: someone with water coming through a ceiling at 10pm is not leaving a message and waiting until morning. They work down the search results until a human — or something that sounds like one — picks up.
